Well, Hello! (By the way, I did everything within my internet searching power to find that clip from Mrs. Doubtfire where Robin Williams hits himself in the face with a cake and screams, “HELLLOOOOOO!” But, alas, no dice.)
Though I had an absolutely lovely break from work and blogging (many adventures ensued, some of which were food related), it’ll be nice returning to the blogosphere and documenting my eats again.
Before I do my daily recap though, here’s a glimpse at what I was up to last week.
I had a lovely New Year’s Day blogger brunch at Spring Street Natural with Ada, Natalie, Marina, and Lynn:
It was the perfect follow up meal to the garlic knots I scarfed down at 2:00AM post-New Year’s eve:
There was quality time and guiltless junk food consumption with the Joben:

Jelly Bellys (Compliments of the Stocking I Received From My Mom. Yes, She Still Gives My 36-Year-Old sister And Me Stockings).
Speaking of blurry, there were train rides up to snowy and majestic Montauk (again):

A few of you wanted some follow-up regarding the little fish market adventure/date thing. While I want to keep my dating life out of the blog explicitly, I will say that I worked in the fish market on Saturday (as a clumsy cashier), had a great time, and an odd twist occurred resulting in hilarity and an unexpected connection with someone new. That’s all I’m disclosing for now!
I also had some blueberry vodka cocktails and cookies with dear old Jerin:

The combination of cookies and cocktails made us a little crazy, and we ended up dressing up like pigs:

Note To My Fellow Sisters: Do NOT Try On Pig Masks When You're Bloated, That's Just Asking For Self-Image Troubles
Oh, the fun Jerin and I make for ourselves:
So those are just a few of the photographed highlights from my work/blog vacation. Despite the junk food pictured above, I mostly stuck to my usual diet and would follow up an indulgent day with a clean eating day. I got in plenty of exercise, and even braved the winter weather for an incredibly brisk 4 mile run in Central Park at one point during the week. Stay tuned for an actual recap post of my daily eats tomorrow!
Who is your favorite person to act like an enormous dork with?

you two look eerily like brother and sister
ummm pig masks + pictures = amazing. i am pretty sure there is a picture of me in a similar mask making a similar face around somewhere!
yay for bloggy meet-ups and breaks from blogging – two fun things that are definitely needed.
happy dating, although i am dying to know more about what happened
love ya!
Funny that you mention the brother/sister likeness of Jerin and me. We’ve actually dubbed ourselves Brother and Sister Rosenburgenstein. It’s kind of a long story, but basically, when we get together we act like kid twins. Even though he’s 40 and I’m 24.
I’ll update you on the dates through the confidential confines of gchat.
Me and my friend Maggie always act like such fools together, ESPECIALLY when we’ve had a cocktail or two.
Awww…I wish I could go to a blogger brunch meet-up! Fun stuff!
That blueberry vodka cocktail sounds incredible. Looks like you had a great New Year’s weekend. Happy 2010!
Oh my goodness, these pig masks are faaaboosh! You guys both have such pretty blue eyes! Sad we don’t get to hear about this amazing fish market guy, I’m dying to know!
What a fun blogger meet-up! I like the sound of your blueberry cocktail too….Glad you are back! xoxo
You. You’re my favorite.
Welcome back girlie! We have missed you dearly. From the snapshots, it looks like your blogger break was well-spent, but don’t you go leaving us again anytime soon.
I too am interested in the mystery fish-market man and how it’s going, but privacy is certainly a plus. Wishing you the best with that.
P.S. the last photo could win a “best eyes” contest – gorgy!
that blog meeting looks so fun! BTW your skin is radiant lady!
Sorry I’m late, but it was great meeting you! I’ve been really busy with the up-coming move, but I’d love to meet up another time!
[...] August 18, 2010 by Chelsea Ward Since moving to California, I’ve done my fair share of eating out. That’s not to say that I didn’t dine it up in New York City by eating out (or ordering in) at places like this, this, this, this, this, and that. [...]
